Take a moment to think about a huge range of things that people might make assumptions about.

For example, think about the assumptions you might make based on the following characteristics?

    • Someone with bright red hair vs someone with a more conservative haircut.
    • A woman with children vs a college leaver.
    • A religious person vs a person with no religious belief.
    • A university graduate vs someone who has not had a university education.
    • A college leaver vs someone nearing retirement age.

We may make bias assumptions about a persons skillset and ability (like those listed above) and these could be quite easily incorrect. Whenever you assume something, you should ask yourself whether you actually know its true.
