Hatton Traffic Management is a leading provider of traffic management services across the UK. Established in 1976, Hatton has developed into a major force within the highways, rail and utilities sectors, working closely with our clients as a key part of their integrated supply chain. In addition, we have a significant Events division providing traffic management services for large events such as the Great North Run. We also provide support for media production companies, working on projects such as Vera and Downtown Abbey in the North-East.

We have been developing a traffic light over the past years. We are now ready to move from the research and development stage to production. You will be supported by our Product Engineer to assemble and test the units. We have a long-term schedule of build which we will be combining with built units as they go into service. With the units being spread across the UK there will be some weekday travel required to visit our facilities to service and maintain the units.

We are now looking for a Production & Service Technician to join our team. You will be based at our production facility near Newcastle Upon Tyne.

The successful candidate must have an excellent telephone manner, a high standard of customer service, and be able to work independently (self-motivated).

This is new role within the business so a level of experience is required so we can work together to craft the role.

 

Main Duties & Responsibilities

· Production Assembly & Testing

· Product Maintenance & Servicing

· Production Documentation

· Battery Management & Testing

· Workspace Management & Maintenance

· Tool Management & Maintenance

· Stock & Parts Control

· Fault & Defect Management

· Production Waste Management

· Regional Depot Service Visits

 

Desired Skills & Experience

· Highly confident with ‘hands-on’ work, hand tools, basic power tools etc.

· Previous manufacturing experience working within an electronics and mechanical manufacturing environment is desirable.

· Experience in working to demanding timescales and managing multiple projects at any one time is desirable. The ability to work with little supervision.

· A motivated individual with a keen eye for quality and detail.

· A forward thinker with ideas to support production optimisation and new product ideas would desirable.

· Driving license
